Second Match of League against JCC – No results.

The second away match of the outdoor session was played on Saturday 6th of July 2019 against JCC at Huhtasuon Liikuntapuisto, Jyväskylä, Finland. Well, the NLCA able to put a fighting total of 191 in 25 overs after losing 6 wickets. Unluckily the match was abandoned due to rain.

After winning the toss NLCA decides to bat first. Well, lacking our regular openers, Muneeb and Ankit opened the innings for NLCA. NLCA batting was slumped in the earlier overs and scored just 28 runs with fall of 3 wickets in 6.5 overs. However, the wonderful, elegant and sensible knock by our captain Bilal Khawaja scoring 50 off 43 balls and Muneeb Jutt scoring 86 off 76 saved the NLCA innings. Their superb and tremendous partnership 135 off 89 balls kept the NLCA batting to recover in a crucial time. Finally, after 25 overs NCLA has managed to score 191 runs at the expense of 6 wickets.

Unfortunately, the second innings has abandoned due to rain and both teams awarded with equal points in the table.

First Match of Outdoor Session 2019

The first match of the outdoor session was played on Saturday on 15th of June 2019 against OCC at Lintula Urheilukeskus, Oulu, Finland. It was away match of NLCA. Well, the NLCA was elegant with the ball, managed to restrict the OCC to 103 and secured an extraordinary victory by a huge margin of 46 runs.

After winning the toss NLCA decides to bat first. With the splendid opening partnership stand between Azhar Rana and Hasnain Virk, scoring 41 runs in just 25 balls gave a very good start. Unfortunately, after the fall of the first wicket of Hasnain Virk, the NLCA batting collapsed against the good bowling spell produced by the OCC bowlers and quick falls of wickets ( 93 for 8 in 13 overs ) placed NLCA in a tough situation to reach a fighting total. However, the valuable knock and mature batting by Azhar Rana kept the scoring board running during the struggling period when the wickets were falling in regular interval. Finally, a sensible batting and superb partnership of 39 runs in 25 balls of 9th wicket between Salman Qayyum and Bilal Khawaja lead to put a score of 149 on the board.

In the second innings, NLCA produced an exquisite powerplay spell. Both the opening bowler. Muneeb Jutt and Sofeem Nasim gave an outstanding start in the bowling. They have demolished the batting of OCC and took 4 crucial wickets while conceded only 11 runs in 5 overs. Muneeb Jutt with extra pace made OCC batsmen struggled throughout. He has conceded 7 runs with 1 wicket in his 3 overs spell, whereas Sofeem Nasim bowled a beautiful line in the first spell conceded 4 runs with 2 wickets in his first 2 overs. The damaged was already done to the batting side and followed by another outstanding bowling by Bilal khan and Summit totally overtook the OCC batting and bowled out them on 103 in just 16.4 overs.

Winning streak continues for NLCA.

Last Sunday NLCA faced KCC at Jyväskylä as it was their last match at there. This match was not as closed as the previous one and NLCA won the match by a big margin of 43 runs.

Earlier of the day KCC won the toss and elected to bowl first. They had a very good start with the ball and got the first wicket in the first ball of the match. NLCA’s batting was full of caution and aggression. Other opening batsman Azhar Rana scored 76 with 4 huge sixes. Z Ullah was the second highest scorer with his valuable knock off 34 runs. Finally they have made 176 for 8 after the completion of 20 overs.

In the second innings, KCC had never found the desired momentum to chase the run. Both the opening bowler Muzamil Ahmed and Salman Mian bowled with beautiful line. Salman Mian picked up two crucial wicket in his first two over and KCC lost 3 in the first six over. The damage was fulfilled by Hasnain Virk as he captured two wicket in two balls. Finally KCC was all out for 133 in 19.3 overs. NLCA will play their next match against OCC at their home venue.
