The first match of the outdoor session was played on Saturday on 15th of June 2019 against OCC at Lintula Urheilukeskus, Oulu, Finland. It was away match of NLCA. Well, the NLCA was elegant with the ball, managed to restrict the OCC to 103 and secured an extraordinary victory by a huge margin of 46 runs.
After winning the toss NLCA decides to bat first. With the splendid opening partnership stand between Azhar Rana and Hasnain Virk, scoring 41 runs in just 25 balls gave a very good start. Unfortunately, after the fall of the first wicket of Hasnain Virk, the NLCA batting collapsed against the good bowling spell produced by the OCC bowlers and quick falls of wickets ( 93 for 8 in 13 overs ) placed NLCA in a tough situation to reach a fighting total. However, the valuable knock and mature batting by Azhar Rana kept the scoring board running during the struggling period when the wickets were falling in regular interval. Finally, a sensible batting and superb partnership of 39 runs in 25 balls of 9th wicket between Salman Qayyum and Bilal Khawaja lead to put a score of 149 on the board.
In the second innings, NLCA produced an exquisite powerplay spell. Both the opening bowler. Muneeb Jutt and Sofeem Nasim gave an outstanding start in the bowling. They have demolished the batting of OCC and took 4 crucial wickets while conceded only 11 runs in 5 overs. Muneeb Jutt with extra pace made OCC batsmen struggled throughout.
